Upon launching Street Design Team, the enhancement of school commutes and the overall well-being of children was a focal point. Subsequently, SDT identified the need to initiate a pilot project aimed at collaborating with school administrators and families to promote active travel—specifically walking and cycling—between homes and the school premises.
This initiative marks the first-of-its-kind pilot study in the UAE. Leveraging the founders’ expertise in aiding other schools, the team selected a school to kickstart this transformative pilot project.
